The Health Map for Heart & Vascular Health

A Health Map is the navigation layer above the Topics. It shows the full path, the cross-area benefits, common mistakes, the contexts in which it applies, where experts disagree at the area level, and what is changing now.

Saturated fat: dietary villain or metabolically neutral depending on context?

Mainstream: Replacing saturated fat with unsaturated plant oils lowers LDL and reduces cardiovascular events in long-term trials and cohort studies.

Contested: What replaces saturated fat matters more than the swap itself; replacing it with refined carbs worsens metabolic markers and may not reduce risk.

What survives: Replace saturated fat with unsaturated plant oils specifically — not refined carbs. This action holds under both views and is what Step 4 recommends.

The full Roadmap applies this pattern across every area-level tension. Path, Mistakes, Context, and What's changing now follow the same approach.
