The Health Map for Nutrition

A Health Map is the navigation layer above the Topics. It shows the full path, the cross-area benefits, common mistakes, the contexts in which it applies, where experts disagree at the area level, and what is changing now.

Saturated fat: cardiovascular villain or context-dependent neutral?

Mainstream: Replacing saturated fat with unsaturated plant oils lowers LDL and reduces cardiovascular events in large cohorts and trials.

Contested: LDL particle quality and metabolic context may matter more than the LDL number; some low-carb experts question universal saturated fat limits.

What survives: Replace saturated fat with unsaturated plant oils rather than refined carbs. This swap holds under both views. Swapping for refined carbs helps no one.

The full Roadmap applies this pattern across every area-level tension. Path, Mistakes, Context, and What's changing now follow the same approach.
